About Us
The IE-CHI, or the Inland Empire Community Health Initiative, is a nonprofit agency serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties that supports comprehensive health insurance coverage and access to quality healthcare services. The IE-CHI partners with different organizations, including healthcare districts, faith-based partners, regional managed care plans, physician membership groups, and healthcare facilities.

Mission Statement:

Bernardino Counties have access to affordable, quality, culturally competent (cultural humility) health care.
Vision Statement:
The IE-CHI will be the Leader in the counties of San Bernardino and Riverside in implementing health coverage and utilization of services for all children and families

Funding:
IE-CHI is funded by grants from Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), Molina Healthcare, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services(CMS), The California Endowment, CMS Healthy Kids 2025-2030, and Inland Empire Health Plan Foundation.
The IE-CHI receives funding support through a grant from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) at the federal level, for which we offer direct enrollment assistance and education targeting children (ages 0-17), pregnant individuals, and their parents. This grant ensures that they are able to access and receive knowledge about healthcare, application assistance, and enrollment support. We are excited to be partnering with El Sol and Neighborhood Healthcare!
The IE-CHI is participating as one of the distinguished 40 organizations coined as the Champions for Vibrant Health Leadership Network. As part of this network, they look to further health through collaboration, organizational sustainability advocacy, and Policy. The funding and support from the network aim to support sustainability for the IE-CHI, along with access to grant-writing professionals.
We provide:
- Support enrolling children/families into Medi-Cal and Covered California
- Collaboration in providing health services for children
- Advocacy to ensure comprehensive health coverage and services for all children/families
- Education about health coverage and services
- Grants to Community Partners
How we can help
The IE-CHI can provide legislators and other agencies the information, statistics, cost factors and compiling case studies to help make informed decisions regarding children’s health policies and service for their district and the state.
